Hyatt Select Richmond / Chester

Great and friendly staff. Rooms are very nice, clean, and spacious. They are doing remodeling on the 1st floor during the day. You can barely hear any noise. There are good selection of places nearby to eat, but they do have a small but good selection of healthy food and snacks to eat in the main lobby. Enjoyed my stay here.

Rooms were extremely clean, very good free breakfastgreat place to rest your head while traveling.

The price was right, breakfast was fine. The hotel served it's purpose as a place to get some rest while on the road. Personally I wouldn't go out of my way to stay here or stay for more than one night.

Stopped by the new Hyatt Select while I was road tripping in the area and was pleasantly surprised! The staff was absolutely amazing - so incredibly kind and helpful. The rooms were VERY clean and spacious and had everything you needed (including a microwave) and I really felt the renovation was great! I also really enjoyed the new limited breakfast. While there wasn't cereal and bacon, they did have super amazing egg bites and tasty waffles! Food really felt fresh and like real food! Would highly recommend this property to anyone in the area who needs a comfortable bed and room along with competent, kind staff. pro tip: if you are a Hyatt member, this new renovation turned a previous Hyatt Place to a Hyatt Select, which is a new brand and will count towards your Brand Explorer reward.

The facility is being renovated (March 2025). In spite of that I had a good experience. I was in a "King with sleeper sofa" room. The positives were: • The room was larger than I anticipated • In spite of the property's age my unrenovated room was in good condition. • Key card entry worked well (both room and hotel door) • Bed was excellent. • The HVAC works well • Location is great...easy ingress and egress to the hotel and to the parking lot. • Quiet The negatives were: • As with most hotels (and I can't understand this) the plumbing is quirky...in this case the shower valve is installed incorrectly (it spins 360°) and the escutcheon plate is ready to fall off. Plus the toilet flushing power is very low. • There are no USB outlets and very few 120V outlets • The mini refrigerator does not have a freezer section • The "Do not disturb" sign on my door was ignored and housekeeping staff was in my room against my wishes. • Both the Hyatt website and phone app are difficult to navigate compared to other chains. • The check-in process is clunky and there is no keyless entry available. An all around good experience but with caveats.

Stayed one night on our way home from Florida. The hotel is spotless. I was so impressed! The evening staff was nice but the morning staff were incredible!!!! They were so happy and full of smiles. Just what you want to see first thing in the morning! The complimentary breakfast offered excellent selections and was fresh and delicious!!!! I was so happy with our experience and I just loved the staff. Will stay again!

Even with renovations going on during the day, THIS hotel was so nice!!! Our room was perfect to fit our whole family, and the breakfast was a step above. Definitely recommend

We stayed here about a year ago and it was just fine, a bit outdated but still great. Stayed here last night and it was more than great. Although they are renovating, the room was updated, very clean, my kids loved the breakfast choices. We come here often to visit, so I’m glad we are a part of Hyatt to stay at this location over and over again!
